What this trial studies
This pilot trial evaluates the feasibility and acceptability of the 'See Yourself Differently' (syd) app, which promotes sustainable and healthy eating through plant-based recipes and educational content. Participants will be randomized into three groups: one receiving general information, another using the app as it is, and a third using the app with additional recipes and food education messages. The study will collect data on demographics and food choices at the beginning and end of the 10-week intervention, along with interviews to gather participant experiences. The primary goal is to assess how well the app can facilitate healthier dietary habits among users.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 18 and older who own a smartphone and have access to WiFi.
Not a fit: Patients with restrictive diets or certain health conditions, such as diabetes or eating disorders, may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this app could help individuals adopt more sustainable and healthier eating habits.
How similar studies have performed: While there have been various studies on mobile health interventions, this specific approach focusing on sustainable diets through an app is relatively novel.
