What this trial studies
This study aims to develop and evaluate the feasibility of the Spanish-language Caregiver-Enabled Care Program (CECP), a digital health intervention designed for Spanish-speaking caregivers of individuals with dementia. The program includes personalized education, one-on-one coaching, and remote monitoring, all provided through a tablet sent to caregivers at no cost. The study will enroll 135 caregiver-patient dyads who are part of a Program for All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) or dementia support network in the U.S. Over six months, participants will engage with the CECP to assess its effectiveness in improving caregiver engagement and support. The overall project duration is 12 months.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates include Hispanic/Latino individuals with a diagnosis of dementia who have a Spanish-speaking family caregiver willing to participate.
Not a fit: Patients who do not have a Spanish-speaking caregiver or are not enrolled in a PACE program or dementia support network may not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance the support and resources available to Spanish-speaking caregivers, improving outcomes for both caregivers and patients with dementia.
How similar studies have performed: Other studies have shown success with caregiver support programs, but this specific approach targeting Spanish-speaking caregivers is relatively novel.
