What this trial studies
The R-CITY Project is a collaborative intervention designed to enhance equity literacy skills among teachers and students in elementary and middle schools. It integrates the Second Step social and emotional learning (SEL) curriculum with additional lessons focused on equity literacy, aiming to create safer and more inclusive learning environments. The study employs a randomized controlled trial design across 30 schools in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, to evaluate the effectiveness of this combined approach compared to the SEL curriculum alone. The project is being implemented in three cohorts, with ongoing recruitment for the second and third cohorts.
