What this trial studies
This study evaluates a holistic movement and music program designed for early childhood education and care (ECEC) settings, targeting children aged 14 to 22 months. It aims to assess the program's impact on children's movement behaviors, gross and fine motor skills, and musical abilities over time. The study employs a cluster-randomized controlled trial design, comparing intervention and control groups within public ECEC centers. Additionally, it explores the perceptions of the educational community regarding the implementation of the program and identifies barriers and facilitators to its success.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are children aged 14 to 22 months who regularly attend an early childhood education and care center.
Not a fit: Children who do not attend the center regularly or only attend part-time may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could enhance the physical and musical development of young children, promoting overall well-being.
How similar studies have performed: While similar holistic approaches have been explored, this specific program's implementation in ECEC settings is novel and has not been previously tested.
