What this trial studies
The Taiwan Neonatal Network (TNN) aims to enhance the quality of neonatal care by uniting multiple hospitals' neonatal care centers. This observational initiative will prospectively collect data on preterm infants, focusing on their care outcomes and associated risk factors. By establishing a comprehensive database, the TNN seeks to analyze and improve neonatal care indicators in Taiwan, particularly for the approximately 20,000 premature infants born each year. The project builds on five years of retrospective analysis to inform future practices and treatment methods.
Who should consider this trial
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are newborns with a birth weight between 401 grams and 1500 grams or those born between 22 weeks and 29 weeks plus 6 days of gestation.
Not a fit: Patients who do not meet the specified birth weight or gestational age criteria will not benefit from this study.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this initiative could significantly improve neonatal care outcomes for premature infants in Taiwan.
How similar studies have performed: Other countries have successfully implemented similar neonatal care networks, indicating a promising approach to improving neonatal outcomes.
