What this trial studies

Researchers will compare an intervention group that receives an 8-week non-diet nutrition education program with a control group that receives no intervention to see if psychological and behavioral outcomes change. Participants complete pre- and post-intervention assessments using validated questionnaires for eating behavior (DEBQ, FCQ, IES-2), body image (BAS), and measures of well-being. Eligible participants are women aged 19-35 with BMI 18.5-24.9 and without active eating disorders, psychiatric diagnoses, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or current enrollment in a weight-loss or medically restrictive diet. The program focuses on intuitive eating and body acceptance rather than weight loss and is delivered at Istanbul Gelisim University.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Women aged 19-35 with a BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 who are not pregnant or breastfeeding, do not have a diagnosed eating disorder or other psychiatric condition, and are not currently in a weight-loss or medically restrictive diet are ideal candidates.

Not a fit: People with diagnosed eating disorders, active psychiatric conditions, BMI outside 18.5-24.9, those who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or those following medically required restrictive diets are unlikely to benefit or be eligible.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, the program could improve eating behaviors, increase body acceptance, and enhance overall mental well-being without emphasizing weight loss.

How similar studies have performed: Prior non-diet and intuitive eating interventions have shown promising improvements in body image and eating behavior in similar populations, though results are variable and more controlled trials are needed.
