3-D mobilization technique for treating frozen shoulder

Effect of 3-Dimensional Shoulder Complex Pain Alignment (3-D SPA) Mobilization on Frozen Shoulder.

Not applicable Interventional Riphah International University · NCT06530602

What this trial studies

This clinical trial investigates the effectiveness of a novel 3-Dimensional Shoulder Complex Pain Alignment (3-D SPA) mobilization technique in improving shoulder mobility in patients with frozen shoulder. The study involves a randomized control trial with 36 participants, where one group receives the 3-D SPA mobilization along with conventional therapy, while the other group receives standard shoulder mobilization with conventional therapy. The aim is to alleviate pain, reduce muscle tightness, and enhance the range of motion by addressing restrictions in all three planes of movement. Data will be analyzed using SPSS 27 to assess the outcomes of the interventions.

Who should consider this trial

Good fit: Ideal candidates for this study are female patients aged 35 to 65 years with unilateral frozen shoulder and marked loss of shoulder mobility.

Not a fit: Patients with neurological disorders, recent corticosteroid injections, or other upper extremity conditions like fractures or tumors may not benefit from this study.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this approach could significantly improve the quality of life for patients suffering from frozen shoulder by enhancing their mobility and reducing pain.

How similar studies have performed: While the 3-D SPA technique is novel and has not been previously tested, other mobilization techniques have shown success in improving outcomes for frozen shoulder.
