What this research studies

You can join one of seven partnered clinics in the U.S. and abroad that offer clinical research options for HIV and related conditions. The network runs studies of new antiretroviral drugs and formulations, prevention tools like broadly neutralizing antibodies, and research into viral reservoirs, inflammation, and TB coinfection. Trials enroll adults and combine clinical visits, lab testing, and follow-up to monitor safety and effectiveness. Participation may include giving blood or other samples and attending regular visits at the study clinic.

Who could benefit from this research

Good fit: Adults (often 21 years or older) living with HIV or at risk for HIV, including people with TB coinfection depending on the specific study, who can attend one of the participating sites are typical candidates.

Not a fit: People under site age limits, those unable to travel to the participating clinics, or individuals excluded by a trial's medical criteria may not be eligible or likely to benefit directly.

Why it matters

Potential benefit: If successful, this effort could speed development of better HIV treatments, prevention options, and steps toward long-term control or cure.

How similar studies have performed: HIV clinical trials have already produced major advances like modern antiretrovirals and PrEP, while some areas here (broadly neutralizing antibodies and cure strategies) are newer and still being tested.
