What this research studies
This research focuses on developing and testing innovative strategies to prevent depression and anxiety among older Latinos aged 60 and above. Participants with mild symptoms of depression or anxiety will be randomly assigned to either a health promotion program called HOLA or a healthy lifestyles education program. Over a period of up to 24 months, the study will assess various health-related and psychosocial outcomes to determine the effectiveness of these interventions in reducing mental health risks. The goal is to provide better access to mental health care and improve overall well-being in this underserved population.
