Improving Home Health Care for Alzheimer's and Related Dementias with Telehealth
Home Health, ADRD, Telehealth, and Patient Outcomes

What this research studies
Many people with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias receive care at home, and more home health agencies are now using telehealth services. We want to understand if telehealth care for these patients is as effective and satisfying as traditional in-person care. We will also learn which types of agencies are adopting telehealth and what specific technologies they are using. Our goal is to ensure that as home health care evolves, it continues to provide the best possible outcomes and experiences for patients with dementia.
Who could benefit from this research
Good fit: This project focuses on understanding the experiences and outcomes of home health patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias who receive care that includes telehealth.
Not a fit: Patients who do not receive home health care or who do not have Alzheimer's disease or related dementias would not directly benefit from this particular research.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this work could help ensure that telehealth services are effectively designed and delivered to improve health outcomes and experiences for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias receiving home health care.
How similar studies have performed: While telehealth use in home health has accelerated, there is currently limited information specifically addressing its compatibility and effectiveness for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias.
