What this research studies
This program offers health professional students a hands-on research experience in biomedical fields related to the NHLBI's mission. Participants will be closely mentored by faculty from Rutgers' health professional schools, gaining valuable knowledge and skills in research. The program aims to inspire students to pursue careers in research through educational activities and ongoing support after the program ends. Special consideration is given to students from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
Who could benefit from this research
Good fit: Ideal candidates for this program are health professional students, particularly those from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds.
Not a fit: Patients who are not health professional students or who do not have an interest in pursuing a research career may not benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this program could significantly enhance the pipeline of diverse health professionals entering research fields, ultimately benefiting patient care and health outcomes.
