What this research studies
Many people don't get screened for colorectal cancer, which is a leading cause of cancer death, often because they lack information or find the process inconvenient. Our team previously developed a tablet-based tool called mPATH™ that successfully helped patients complete their screenings. Now, we are building a new version of mPATH™ that works online, making it much easier to reach more people. This cloud-based tool will educate you about screening options and help you request the right test.
Who could benefit from this research
Good fit: Ideal candidates are adults aged 21 and older who are due for colorectal cancer screening.
Not a fit: Patients who have already completed their recommended colorectal cancer screening may not receive direct benefit from this program.
Why it matters
Potential benefit: If successful, this tool could significantly increase the number of people who get screened for colorectal cancer, potentially saving lives through earlier detection.
How similar studies have performed: A previous version of this tool, mPATH™, successfully doubled the proportion of patients who completed colorectal cancer screening in a randomized controlled trial.
